This is post number two in a blog series call $0.20Wal-Mart Seeds.
I opened the seed packet of 20-cent jalapeno seeds this evening to do some inspecting and sow them in a 12 cell-seeding container. Upon initial inspection I was a little surprised at how many seeds there were. When I buy from a seed catalog I normally get 24 seeds per packet, and this packet had 51. 51 seeds for $0.20 seems like a good deal!
After separating the seeds I found three that looked bad, so I pulled them out and tossed them. So, 48 seeds for 20-cents! I planted 3 seeds per cell in a 12-cell seedling container. The packet states the seeds will take 10-20 days to germinate and 72 days to harvest! We shall see!
